LIVESTREAM: Watch the 2020 Turkey Day Marathon Right Here!

Hello marvelous MSTies! We hope you enjoy this year’s marathon as much as we enjoyed putting it together. If you’re curious as to what to expect today, you can get all the details here — but we won’t fault you if you’d rather be surprised. You can watch the stream here all day, as well as lots of other options wherever you are.

ETA: The YouTube livestream cuts off after 12 hours, but we’ve collected all the new host segments and the re-riffed short featuring Emily over here.

TURKEY DAY IS UPON US! Here’s the List of Episodes You Will See Today (Plus We’re Revealing Some Big Surprises!)

At last, the day is here! You voted, and the results are locked in. The Turkey Day Marathon begins shortly at 9am ET / 6am PT; if you’re still unsure how to watch, we’ve got your options covered over here!

I’ve got your schedule for the day below, but first, a small preamble. When we launched the 2020 Turkey Day Tournament, many of you asked if you’d be able to vote to include episodes from the Netflix series — the Jonah Era — because Jonah deserves representation on Turkey Day too. We loved that idea and couldn’t agree more, it just took a little more wrangling to figure it out, and our options were limited* so voting wouldn’t be possible anyway.

But if you wondered why this year’s Turkey Day is starting early, this is why! You’re not getting six episodes this year, you’re getting EIGHT EPISODES, because we’ve added two Netflix episodes to the Turkey Day roaster — I mean roster.

That’s not all! You’ll also be seeing some brand new segments we made especially for this year’s marathon, including a series of interviews with Paul & Storm, your MST3K Turkey Day memories, and some insider looks at the world of Alternaversal, your production company behind all things MST3K!

And last but definitely not least, this year’s event will also include a NEW riff of a short film by the MST3K LIVE cast led by Emily Marsh, making the 2020 Turkey Day Marathon one in which every host of MST3K is represented.

Phew. Can you handle it? Today’s schedule of events is below:

9am ET – I Accuse My Parents

11am ET – Hobgoblins

3pm ET – Carnival Magic

5pm ET – Final Justice

7pm ET – The Day the Earth Froze

9pm ET – Night of the Blood Beast (Wildcard Entry!)

11pm ET – Cry Wilderness

Yes, this year’s Turkey Day is HUGE! Our heartfelt thanks, again, for your enthusiastic participation in this year’s Turkey Day Tournament, and for your support for all our efforts. And an extra special thanks to Shout! Factory for collaborating on this event with us so wonderfully.

We hope today’s marathon provides warmth and laughter for you today. Happy Turkey Day!

*We can only stream episodes we have certain rights to, so we picked the best ones we had available. We’re all adults here. And it’s Thanksgiving!

Tomorrow morning I’ll be back with your episodes for this year’s marathon. This may be a non-traditional Thanksgiving for many of us, but remember — you’re never truly alone on Turkey Day when you’ve got MST3K on your side.

WE HAVE RESULTS FOR THE 2020 TURKEY DAY TOURNAMENT! Also, Tell Us Your Thanksgiving Day Plans

Greetings, tournamenteers! When last we spoke, the Turkey Day Tournament Final had taken flight in an unthinkable battle between those two towering titans of MST3K, I Accuse My Parents and Pod People. Pod People emerged the victor, although things were neck and neck for awhile there.

There are no losers in MST3K, however, and I Accuse My Parents will be represented on this year’s Turkey Day marathon along with Pod People and the top three episodes by your votes and comments, plus one “wildcard” entry from the second round, just to keep things spicy.

But don’t assume you know these six episodes are all that’s going to happen this year — we have some surprises up our collective sleeve yet. This year’s marathon starts bright and early at 9am ET/6am PT, led by MST3K LIVE host Emily Marsh, along with Tom Servo (Conor McGiffin), Crow (Nate Begle), and GPC/MegaSynthia (Yvonne Freese), and featuring appearances by Joel, Jonah Ray and Rebecca Hanson (the OG Synthia Forrester). You can catch the event on a vast array of streaming services — including Shout Factory TV, Pluto TV, Twitch, and the MST3K YouTube Channel — and of course, right here on, where the cool kids hang out. If this all seems like a lot to remember, don’t worry, I’ll be back next week to remind you.

Which brings me to a community question: This Thanksgiving will be an unusual one for most of us, given the ongoing public health crisis (rhymes with Persona Gyrus), and its necessary impediments to travel and large social gatherings. So, besides the obvious (HUNGRILY DEVOURING EVERY SECOND OF THE MST3K TURKEY DAY MARATHON!!), what are your Thanksgiving plans?

Will you be holed up at home, by yourself, or with your family or pod? Are you cooking a turkey or nah? Are you for or against cranberry sauce that retains the shape of the can it came in? Is it true that turkeys contain enough l-tryptophan to knock you on your sorry Thanksgiving, um, butt? (Science says no, but I’m sticking with Crow on this one.) Got any beloved recipes to share? Seriously, if you’ve got recipes, I want your recipes.

THE 2020 TURKEY DAY TOURNAMENT FINAL IS HERE: I Accuse My Parents vs. Pod People

What a ride, friends! Nearly a month ago we embarked on a journey together to determine the six experiments to be shown on this year’s Turkey Day Marathon. Thousands of you have participated, and today we come to the final battle — the contenders here may not be surprising, but I feel like the outcome could easily go either way.

While determining the winner is fun, obviously we need more than one episode for the marathon, so this year’s slate will consist of the five most popular episodes according to your votes and comments, plus a particular “wildcard” entry from a previous round that many of you have specifically requested, and we’re doing our best to make it happen.

On to today’s vote: I Accuse My Parents versus Pod People. these are, of course, two of the most beloved episodes in the MST3K stable. But only one will come out on top. Will it be Jimmy Wilson’s tragic tale of compulsive lying, or will Tommy (can you hear me?) and Trumpy’s forbidden friendship take the crown? Voting is open until 10pm ET tomorrow, so don’t wait too long to decide. And thank you all again for your enthusiastic embrace of this grand experiment!

Turkey Day Tournament Day 22: Pod People vs. Final Justice

Salutations, Turkey Day Tournamenteers! Yesterday our first semifinal match unfolded with I Accuse My Parents versus Hobgoblins, and as anticipated, many of you have strong feelings about that choice. At this time, I Accuse My Parents holds the lead, but voting stays open until 11pm ET tonight so if you haven’t voted yet, get in there.

Today we have the second semifinal with Pod People taking on Final Justice. Hey, these are YOUR favorites, so of course these decisions are going to be challenging! But you’ve accepted the grave task of deciding whether Trumpy or Joe Don Baker makes a more entertaining monster, and with great power comes great responsibility. Voting stays open until 11pm ET tomorrow (Wednesday), and then on Thursday we’ll be back with the final battle.

Until then, intrepid MSTies!

THE SEMIFINALS BEGIN! Turkey Day Tournament Day 21: I Accuse My Parents vs. Hobgoblins

Hail and well met, Turkey Day Tournamenteers! I hope you all had magnificent weekends. Today we are kicking off the Turkey Day semifinals, which means we are rapidly approaching the close of our tournament. I want to thank each of you for your enthusiastic participation so far — you’ve made this competition so much fun!

Our quarterfinal finished up over the weekend, and the winners are:

  • I Accuse My Parents
  • Hobgoblins
  • Pod People
  • Final Justice

These four contenders move on to the semifinal matches starting today. Got any favorites for the #1 slot yet? The first match-up is the seemingly unstoppable I Accuse My Parents versus the scrappy Hobgoblins, both of which focus on the trouble unsupervised teenagers can get up to, both of which are hilarious episodes, but only one of which can go to the final. Voting is open until 10pm ET tomorrow (Tuesday)!

Turkey Day Tournament Day 20: Horrors of Spider Island vs. Final Justice

Saturday greetings, Tournamenteers! I’ve got the final quarterfinal match for you today (and remember, if you missed a day you can always catch up at Polls Central).

On to the last pair-up of round 3: it’s the battle of the beefy lunkheads as Horrors of Spider Island takes on Final Justice. Think you can make a decision? Go ahead on. We’ll be back on Monday with the results!

Turkey Day Tournament Day 19: Pod People vs. The Sinister Urge

Helloooooooo devoted Turkey Day companions! Yesterday we saw Hobgoblins tackle The Day the Earth Froze, and Hobgoblins has scrappily taken a narrow lead. Voting is open until 11am tomorrow though, so it’s still anyone’s game.

Click me and I will get bigger and more legible!

Today, as promised, I’m sharing the entire bracket as it currently stands. I encourage you to click on it to make it easier to read. Voting on the last two matches of round 2 have ended with Final Justice winning over Night of the Blood Beast, and Horrors of Spider Island barely squeaking out a win over Future War (the final tally was 765 to 759! Talk about a nailbiter).

Also, the voting for the first quarterfinal match has concluded, and I Accuse My Parents beat out Eegah to advance to the semifinal!

Together we are inching ever closer to your top ranked experiment, and I have my suspicions about what it will be (do you?). Today’s battle unfolds between Pod People and The Sinister Urge; will Officer Kline stand up against Trumpy’s extremely dull magical powers? You decide!
